Rwandan Getaway | Touring the Country

A Hint of Ginger has taken a break for the last several weeks thanks to a visit by my parents and aunt to Rwanda. We have had three fully packed weeks…a Tour du Rwanda of sorts! As we come to the end of their visit, I am finally getting a chance to sit down and write up some of our experiences and adventures. I’m sad to see our time with them here come to an end but these were probably the best 3 weeks we’ve had in a long time. Some of the top experiences of our lives took place during them…And, of course, great food along the way.

For those of you interested in visiting Rwanda or those who just want to see what we did, here is our itinerary. We divided it up into three weekend categories: safari, water, and volcanoes; and weekday adventures around Kigali. Over the next week, I’ll post details about each.
